I think the easiest way for you to get to know me and the type of nutritionist I am is to give you a glimpse into my daily routine. Now, you may be expecting some beautifully zen day loaded with fresh vegetable juices, sunshine and meditation. This is not the case. I am a Holistic Nutritionist who believes that we can use food to obtain optimal health and I believe a large part of this is learning about balance. We cannot set ourselves up to have a goal to eat perfectly because once we come to the realization that perfection does not exist, we feel as though we have failed. It is very important to me that for myself and for my clients, we set up reasonable, sustainable, and FUN goals. Nutrition does not have to be hard and I will show you how to be the boss of your own health and use food to reach your goals.
My morning usually consists of some kind of exercise – I love to get outside with my pup, Kara and either go for a run in the park or go for a stroll by the water. I am a huge advocate for listening to your body and this has worked very well for me. Once home from my walk/run I will make breakfast number one! This is typically two boiled eggs with pepper and hot sauce. After eating my eggs, I will do some yoga or strength work – again listening to my body and doing what feels good for that day. Then I will pack my lunch for the day, have a quick shower and get dressed for work. I will usually make myself a smoothie to drink on the way to work for my second breakfast!
During the week, you can usually find me at the Vitasave store on Lonsdale and 16th. I work as their in-store nutritionist and I really love the work we do. The constant interactions with the public really keeps me on my toes with my nutrition knowledge and it has been a great way for me to stay up-to-date on all things wellness!
My evenings will look different day-to-day. I will often meet with clients, work on nutritional protocols or do research for upcoming nutrition talks.
Dinner in our house is the time we get to relax, chat about our days and make a delicious meal together. I love trying out new recipes and putting my own twists to them.
After dinner I typically will go for a walk with my partner, Ryan and my dog, Kara. Evening walks have been a great way for us to get outside one last time for the day and is an amazing way to de-compress after a hectic day.
